Roulette

Roulette is a gambling game (the translation of the word roulette from French means “small wheel”). The croupier spins the roulette from the opposite side of it, which is divided in 37 or 38 sectors, and then throws a small ball which must stop in one of the sectors, after spinning at least three complete laps.

The sectors are numbered from 1 to 36 and colored in two colors: black and red. The numbers aren’t located in order, although the colors are situated in order, beginning with 1 – colored red. There’s also the green sector that matches the number zero. Many of the roulettes of the US also have the double zero sector which is also colored green. In the European roulettes this tendency wasn’t followed.

18 numbers are colored black: 2, 4, 6, 8, 10, 11, 13, 15, 17, 20, 22, 24, 26, 28, 29, 30, 31, 33, and 35.

18 numbers are colored red: 1, 3, 5, 7, 9, 12, 14, 16, 18, 19, 21, 23, 25, 27, 30, 32, 34, and 36.

The European roulette was artificially divided in 3 sectors for fast betting, the faster one includes 5-8 with 4 numbers. In the American roulette bets can be made on five numbers, but its more worth to make single bets.
